Should I wash my hair every day? No. In fact, it is essential to space out your shampoo washes! Why? First and foremost, to save time. If you have long or medium-length hair, you need to add an extra 20 minutes to your morning routine every time you decide to wash it. In addition, frequent shampooing with harsh products can damage the scalp. The result: you disrupt sebum production and your hair re-greases too quickly. What’s worse, dandruff can then appear.

How to brush your hair well and not as often?

At La Bonne Brosse, we believe that a good daily hair brushing ritual helps your hair stay cleaner for longer between shampoo washes. To do this, get one of our boar bristle brushes to rid your hair of the impurities that accumulate throughout the day (environmental particles, dust, etc.) and brush your hair at least twice a day.

However, as just combing your hair regularly is not enough, we also recommend using a dry shampoo.

If possible, in powder form, without aerosol, and applied with a brush. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Brush your hair for at least 2 minutes to clean it.
  2. Apply dry shampoo generously, only at the root of the hair.
  3. Leave on for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Remove excess with a towel (the most important step)
  5. Brush your hair back into place.
