Why 'Made in France’?
At La Bonne Brosse, we believe that the hair brush is that rare thing, a precious everyday object. It should reflect the care we choose to give to ourselves and our planet. To offer you the very best hair brushes, we decided to take up the Made in France challenge. Allow us to explain why.
Born in the valleys of the Jura and Oise, French luxury brush-making first served the needs and desires of Europe’s royal courts. The industry flourished until the early 20th century, before being partly displaced by the arrival of much cheaper Asian-made brushes, predominantly made from petrochemical plastics...
A few exceptional traditional brush-making companies still carry on this heritage in France. We wanted to reconnect with their unique expertise and help breathe new life into the craft.
We chose a company that understands your hair and the importance of good brushing better than anyone. Recognised as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant, it remains faithful to the traditional techniques behind the excellence of French brush-making.
All our products are made entirely in France, using locally sourced materials, with respect for traditional craftsmanship and a commitment to sustainability.
We are committed to offering hairbrushes made without any plastic, using only responsibly sourced, environmentally conscious, high-quality materials.
Our handles are made from 100% biodegradable cellulose acetate, a material of natural origin derived from cotton flowers and wood pulp. Strong, durable and hypoallergenic, it is suitable for all skin types and uses, combining performance with respect for the environment.
We work with partners and brush-making workshops close to us who share our belief that a hairbrush should be a quality product.
Our 100% transparent, environmentally responsible production process also lets us assure you of the origin, safety and quality craftsmanship of every hairbrush we make.
Because all too often, the vast majority of the international hairbrush market is dominated by factories with appalling working and environmental conditions. A product so important to our beauty and wellbeing deserves to be made with the greatest care.
